Vertex Launches Corporate Philanthropy Program

Berwyn, PA

Vertex Inc., the leading provider of corporate tax solutions, launched the company's Corporate Philanthropy program and yesterday welcomed all employees to an Open House to celebrate and learn more about the program. The Corporate Philanthropy program is comprised of two components: a corporate program to support four organizations the company will partner with, and a matching component that provides employees the opportunity to support 501(c)3 charities of their choice via Vertex matching donations.

Comprehensive research and employee feedback resulted in the selection of four charitable organizations the company will support for a two-year period:

• American Heart Association
• Big Brothers/Big Sisters
• Breastcancer.org
• The Patriot Foundation

Representatives from each of the four organizations were onsite and employees visited each of their booths to learn more about upcoming volunteer opportunities and about the organizations themselves.

“Vertex has been a proud corporate sponsor of Breastcancer.org and has supported a number of charitable causes and disaster relief efforts for decades, but there had never been a formal program around corporate philanthropy – until now,” said Amanda Westphal-Radcliffe, Vertex Board Director and co-owner of the company. “As we continue to grow, we were eager to develop a formal corporate philanthropy program so that Vertex can continue to have a positive impact on the communities where our employees live and work.”

Along with the corporate and matching aspects of the program an additional, innovative aspect of the employee program was included: employees eligible for a 10, 15 or 20 year anniversary gift have the choice to forfeit the gift and have Vertex donate the cash equivalent to a charity of their choice.

Additionally, Vertex will continue to partner with the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts to help those in need following natural disasters.
