Lisa Butler Named Chief Financial Officer of Vertex

Berwyn, PA

Vertex Inc., the leading provider of corporate tax solutions, announced today that Lisa Butler has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer.  

In this role, Butler will be responsible for leading the development of the financial strategy to support the business, including investment strategies and five-year financial plans. She will also oversee financial budgeting, planning and analysis, audit, and tax compliance for Vertex, as well as risk management, accounting, and treasury responsibilities.

Butler joined Vertex as Director of Accounting and Compliance in 2003. In that role, she served as a critical resource to both the Finance Strategy Team and Risk and Contracts teams. Over the past decade, she has demonstrated the breadth of her skills as a sponsor and mentor at Vertex, as the leader of the Internal Strategy and Enterprise Risk Management Teams, and as a steering committee member for the Vertex Women's Leadership Forum (WLF).

Butler's advancement enables previous CFO, David DeStefano, to focus on his role as a market-facing executive vice president and as a key member of the Vertex Executive Council, which is responsible for the collaborative oversight of the company's strategy and operational execution.
