Jennifer Kurtz Promoted to Vertex Inc. Chief Technology Officer

Berwyn, PA

Vertex Inc., the leading provider of corporate tax solutions, announced today that Jennifer Kurtz has been promoted to an executive leadership role, assuming the responsibilities of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Kurtz is responsible for the company’s architecture and technology strategy as it relates to the commercial solutions Vertex brings to market.

Kurtz joined Vertex as a Senior Software Developer in 1999 and shortly thereafter moved into the role of Enterprise Architect. In that role, she served as a critical resource in the evolution of the Vertex Indirect Tax O Series solution and later led key technology initiatives for Vertex Enterprise, the company’s next generation enterprise tax platform. Kurtz has also served as technical leader overseeing strategic design, development and implementation.

Over the past decade, Kurtz has demonstrated the breadth of her business and technology skills as a member of the company’s commercial strategy team which focuses on the entire suite of solutions, services and products that Vertex brings to the corporate tax market. Kurtz’s focus is on the commercial business strategy and its realization through technology and architecture into Vertex solutions. Additionally, she is a member of the Women's Leadership Forum, a company-based organization of women leaders that provides networking, mentoring and community service.

“Jennifer has made significant contributions to the company over her 17 years at Vertex,” said Vertex President David DeStefano. “This promotion recognizes not only the value of her technical expertise, but also her leadership and ability to think strategically on an enterprise level.”

Jennifer holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Bloomsburg University and a M.S. in Computer Science from Villanova University.
