Building the Future of Tax: Women Leading the Charge in Tax Technology

Vertex Technology Consulting

The tax industry is evolving rapidly, driven by technology, automation and shifting compliance demands. As organizations adapt, building the next generation of tax teams requires innovation, strategy and strong leadership. I’m thrilled to speak at the upcoming International Tax Review (ITR) Women in Tax Forum to explore these critical topics.

Why This Event Matters

The Women in Tax Forum is more than an industry gathering – it’s a space to connect with inspiring professionals, exchange insights and foster meaningful discussions. Taking time to network and learn from others is invaluable in such a fast-moving field.

My panel session, Building 3.0 Tax Teams – Leveraging Technology for the In-House Tax Professional, brings together women leaders to explore key challenges tax professionals face, including:

  • Investing internally vs. outsourcing;
  • Modern management strategies to create highly efficient teams;
  • Keeping up with tax technology developments; and
  • Digital transformation

Women in Tax & Technology: Making an Impact

The intersection of tax and technology presents a unique opportunity for women to drive change.

For women looking to grow in this field (and beyond), my advice is simple – build relationships and embrace the unknown. Technology evolves rapidly, and no one has all the answers. You don’t need to be a technical expert to lead; understanding technology’s value and driving organizational change is what sets leaders apart.

For companies looking to support women in tax and tech, it’s not just about hiring; it’s about fostering a culture where diverse ideas are valued and leadership opportunities are accessible. I’ve been fortunate to have mentors (both men and women) who pushed me to grow and provided invaluable exposure to strong leadership.

I’m looking forward to engaging with talented professionals at the ITR Women in Tax Forum. Events like these provide an incredible platform to learn, connect and contribute to the future of tax and technology.

By fostering inclusive leadership and embracing technology, we can shape a future where innovation and diversity go hand in hand. For more information on attending, visit our event page.
