SAP and Vertex Partner to Help Customers Comply with Brazilian Tax System
Brazil boasts one of the world’s most unique and complex tax systems. A new chapter in the long and productive partnership between SAP and Vertex is designed to help companies tame that complexity.
Companies operating in Brazil contend with a sweeping and continually changing web of tax-compliance rules, as well as the high risk of tax litigation that pervades throughout the country. Brazil’s tax rules concerning goods and revenue are especially intricate given that they frequently include a VAT-esque tax, a tax on revenue and an excise tax. To help companies manage Brazilian tax requirements, the SAP team at Vertex recently added a new integration approach for Vertex® Indirect Tax O Series® 9.0 to help our SAP customers to support Brazilian tax requirements more effectively. But adding a new capability to help our customers meet constantly evolving tax regulations is just part of our focus. Our relationship with SAP enables us to deliver new features and functionality that help customers meet tax requirements, while seamlessly integrating into their native SAP solutions.
The team at Vertex works closely with SAP to ensure that our solutions are built on SAP platforms, adhere to SAP’s technical standards, and perform as expected with their SAP® applications. In fact, Vertex is often among the first to get new solutions and integrations certified by SAP. Our recent certification is a good example of that.
Vertex® Indirect Tax O Series® 9.0 solution was recently certified by SAP as built on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), SAP’s platform for the Intelligent Enterprise. SAP BTP helps companies connect and integrate their business processes and data with SAP, as well as third-party applications to make informed decisions and meet their evolving needs. We firmly believe that our combined offering will prove highly beneficial to businesses operating in Brazil that use SAP technologies and need to comply with some of the world’s most complicated global tax reporting requirements. That said, complex tax compliance obligations also exist in other countries and regions throughout the word, which is why Vertex remains committed to the SAP certification process and supporting indirect tax requirements of the SAP solution portfolio.
