Vertex & NetSuite: 2024 Year in Review

Vertex and NetSuite have partnered together since 2013 with the joint goal of extending the value of NetSuite ERP platforms. Vertex’s NetSuite-certified implementation consultants and support specialists are committed to improving ROI and faster time-to-value for Vertex solutions—providing customers with greater tax compliance, efficiency of finance, tax, and IT teams as well as improved scalability.  While we have achieved much together throughout our partnership so far, we wanted to highlight our most exciting achievements of 2024.

Vertex & NetSuite: A Look Back at Our Accomplishments

The Vertex O Series integration for NetSuite now supports more tax processes.

  1. VAT-Compliant invoicing: The same tax calculation connector also now integrates NetSuite to Vertex Invoice IQ to automate and optimize digital invoicing tailored to local regulations, languages, and currencies. This helps to ensure accurate tax calculations and invoice details presented in compliance with global tax regulations. It streamlines invoice workflows, reduces manual errors, and enhances efficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
  2. VAT ID validation: The Vertex O Series connector for NetSuite now also integrates to Vertex Validator to help ensure the accuracy and validity of VAT registration numbers by validating them against official tax authority databases. It helps businesses maintain compliance with VAT invoicing regulations, lower risk of fraud, reduce errors in tax reporting, and mitigate disruptions in cross-border transactions.

My colleague, Bill Flannigan, Product Management at Vertex explains, "as we enter this new year, it’s clear that our focus in 2024 on enhancing VAT capabilities has driven significant progress. From improving compliance processes to supporting complex VAT scenarios, we’ve empowered our customers to navigate global tax challenges with greater accuracy and confidence. Last year’s advancements set a strong foundation for the future, and we’re excited to continue delivering solutions that simplify tax management and drive value for businesses worldwide."

  3. Exemption certificate automation: Using the Vertex O Series connector, NetSuite users can now automatically create exemption certificate records in Vertex O Series straight from the data in the NetSuite exemption certificate module. This eliminates the need to enter information twice, applies the correct exemption in real time, and enhances tax accuracy. Exemptions are collected, stored, and applied seamlessly without disrupting workflows.
  4. Engaging Events and Experiences: In September, we served as a prominent sponsor at NetSuite SuiteWorld where we hosted a lively networking event that attracted over 200 attendees. This gathering allowed us to connect with prospects and customers in a relaxed setting. In July, we organized an interactive virtual cooking session led by a renowned chef. Participants had the opportunity to join in crafting delicious dishes, enhancing their culinary skills while enjoying a fun and engaging experience together. Both events were designed to foster connections and create memorable moments for attendees.

Vertex & NetSuite: A Look at What’s Ahead

Looking ahead at 2025, we are excited to be a Gold-level sponsor at SuiteConnect in Chicago on March 4 and followed by our sponsorship at SuiteConnect San Francisco on March 6. We are proud to once again supportNetSuite’s Women Who Mean Business initiatives in San Francisco this May. Hosted by NetSuite, this event aims to inspire women by gathering a community of accomplished and influential business professionals in the California area.
